This article was previously published under Q324453 Session SummaryDuring this WebCast, we will explore the ways to
integrate assemblies and Web services written with the .NET Framework, for both
tightly coupled and loosely coupled systems. We will first discuss the loosely
coupled systems that implement URL queries, templates, and ADO.NET classes to
send and receive XML documents. We will then explore the SQLXML 3.0 interface
used for automatic exposure to SOAP, and how to create SOAP request. We will
then look at different methods and cases of invoking managed code from within
SQL Server 2000. Finally, we will discuss the appropriate times to use each
form of application integration. This is a
Level
200 session that was recorded July 18, 2002 and presented by Drew
Minkin. Drew Minkin is an MCSD, MCDBA, and MCSE, and he is a Support
Professional in Microsoft Product Support Services for SQL Server. Before
coming to Microsoft, Drew has worked as a developer, a test engineer, and a
corporate trainer, and he managed an international database support team. At
Microsoft, he has primarily supported database development efforts like
Transact-SQL and extended stored procedures, and integrating XML with SQL
Server 2000. He is the author of the "Inside SQLXML Architecture" white paper
included in the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Web Services Toolkit, and he is
currently writing a Microsoft Press book on database programming for next
version of Microsoft SQL Server (code-named Yukon). Viewing the Presentation To view, please click on the link:
