BUG: FoodMart 2000 Does Not Install When You Install Analysis Server on Windows XP Professional Chinese Version (324426)

SYMPTOMS

The FoodMart 2000 sample database does not install when you install Analysis Services on a computer that is running the Microsoft Windows XP Professional Simplified Chinese version.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, restore the database from the \Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Samples\FoodMart 2000.cab file.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Install the Windows XP Professional Simplified Chinese version release to manufacturing (RTM) build.
  2. Install the Analysis Services 2000 RTM Simplified Chinese version.
  3. Open Analysis Manager, and then expand the Service you installed. The Foodmart 2000 database is not in the list.
The same problem occurs with the Microsoft Windows XP Traditional Chinese version and the Japanese version.
