The page number in the SECTIONPAGES field in printed document is incorrect in Word 2002 (324329)

SYMPTOMS

When you print a document that has a header or footer that contains a SECTIONPAGES field, the page number of that field may be incorrect.

The page number of that field is correct as it appears on the screen and in print preview.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, turn off the Update fields option. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Print tab, click to clear the Update fields check box, and then click OK.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
