SYMPTOMS

When you print a selection in a Word document, Word prints the selection successfully, but if the selection contains any column breaks or section breaks, Word may incorrectly print the break marks.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods.

Method 1: Paste the Selection into a New Document

  1. Select the text that you want to print, and then click Copy on the Edit menu.
  2. Open a new document, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
  3. On the File menu, click Print.
  4. Under Page range, click All, and then click OK to print the whole document.

Method 2: Print the Selection as a Range of Pages

  1. Determine which pages are the first and last pages in the selection (for example, pages 3 and 4).
  2. On the File menu, click Print.
  3. Under Page range, click Pages, type the range of pages that you want to print in the Pages box (for example, type 3-4), and then click OK.
