WD2000: Word Stops Responding When You Edit a Table That Spans Multiple Pages (324303)

SYMPTOMS

When you scroll through a Word document in either Page Layout view or Print Layout view, and the document contains a table, Word may not display the table correctly. Word may also stop responding (crash,) and then you receive the following error message:
Winword has experienced an error and must be shut down.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the table contains vertically merged cells that stretch across multiple pages.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Office 2000 service pack that contains this hotfix.

When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
