WD2002: ScreenTip for Footnote or Endnote Reference Mark Flickers and Contains No Text When You Rest the Pointer Over the Mark (324289)

SYMPTOMS

When you rest the pointer on the footnote or endnote reference mark, the ScreenTip that contains the note text may not appear. The ScreenTip may flash (flicker), and no content appears.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, do the following:
  1. On the View menu, click Document Map. This will make the Document Map pane visible on your screen.
  2. Click Document Map on the View menu again. This will hide the Document Map pane. You should now be able to view ScreenTips as expected.

    Note To view the footnotes or endnotes in the note pane, click Footnotes on the View menu.
