MORE INFORMATION
You can change the e-mail address that you use to sign in to the Passport Network only if the e-mail address is not a part of a reserved domain. A reserved domain is managed by a group or a company that controls the registration
of all e-mail addresses in that domain. Examples of reserved domains are
hotmail.com, msn.com, and webtv.net. The new e-mail address that you use to sign in to the Passport Network cannot be part of a reserved domain.
Note If you want to use an e-mail address that is part of a reserved
domain, you must first register the address together with the group or company that
manages the domain. This creates a new Passport Network that is separate from your existing Passport Network.
How to change the Passport (Windows Live ID) that you use to access your Microsoft Money or MSN Money Portfolio data file
Generally with Money data files, you have to remove the old Passport from the data file, create your new Passport, and then associate it to your data file. Because the MSN Money Portfolio is based on Microsoft Money 2006, you will have to open your Portfolio data file in Money 2006 to remove and then add a different Passport.
To find the location and the name of the local file, follow these steps:
- Start Portfolio Manager.
-
In the Other Tasks section, click More, and then click About Portfolio Manager.
- Record the path and the name of the file.
If you have Money 2006 installed, start Money 2006, and then open this file. To download the trial version Money 2006, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
Note The MSN Money Portfolio is incompatible with Microsoft Money 2007.
After you open the local data file, you can remove the Passport for that data file in Money.
