WORKAROUND

To temporarily work around this issue, use a Dynamic Connector to route a connection between position shapes instead of using the yellow diamond control handle. To do this, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

  1. From the Organization Chart Shapes stencil, drag a Dynamic Connector shape onto the drawing page.
  2. Click Dynamic Connector endpoint handles (green square or cube with an "x" for a starting point or a plus sign for the end point), and then glue the end points to the position shapes.

Method 2

Use the mouse to drop subordinate shapes on superior shapes. The Organization Chart solution automatically routes a Dynamic Connector.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
This problem was first corrected in Visio 2002 Service Pack 2.
