SYMPTOMS

When you use the ac /deploy command to start deployment from a remote computer, the administrator user name and password may be sent in clear text.

CAUSE

The AC.exe utility uses the RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_CONNECT authentication level, which does not encrypt the argument value of each remote procedure call (RPC).

RESOLUTION

The AC.exe utility is modified in the following hotfix to use the RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_PKT_PRIVACY authentication level, which encrypts the argument value of each remote procedure call.
