SYMPTOMS

When you try to publish your Microsoft Producer presentation to My Computer, your Internet dial-up connection opens automatically.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if Always dial my default connection is selected, and your Internet dial-up connection is your default connection.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, select the Never dial a connection option. To do this, follow these steps:

In Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, and Microsoft Windows 2000

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Internet Options.
  3. On the Connections tab, click Never dial a connection.
  4. Click OK to close the Internet Properties dialog box.
  5. Click the Close button to close Control Panel.

In Microsoft Windows XP

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Network and Internet Connections.
  3. Click Internet Options.
  4. On the Connections tab, click Never dial a connection.
  5. Click OK to close the Internet Properties dialog box.
  6. Click the Close button to close the Network and Internet Connections dialog box.
