This article was previously published under Q323689 SYMPTOMSYou cannot sign any Microsoft Office XP projects, although
the signature has been imported to your computer from VeriSign. You can use the
PvkImprt.exe file to import a current class 3 VeriSign Authenticode signature.
However, Microsoft Office 2002 programs do not appear to recognize the class 3
VeriSign Authenticode signature for use in signing a Microsoft Visual Basic for
Applications (VBA) project. You can select the certificate, but Office products
do not recognize the certificate as a valid certificate because the
intermediate authority is not imported by the PvkImprt.exe file.CAUSEOffice programs must have an intermediate certificate to
create a class 3 VeriSign Authenticode signature. Although the .spc file
includes the intermediate certificate, the PvkImprt.exe file does not import
the intermediate certificate in the intermediate certificate store. The
intermediate certificate must be in the intermediate store for Office to
recognize the Class 3 VeriSign Authenticode signature.
