PRJ2000: "Invalid CD Key" Error Message with Volume Licensing Key (323644)

SYMPTOMS

When you are installing Microsoft Project 2000, and you try to use the Volume Licensing CD Key (VLK), you may receive the following error message:
This is an invalid CD Key value. Please check the number located on your CD Key sticker.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you have been incorrectly provided with a Volume Licensing CD Key for Microsoft Project 2002 instead of Microsoft Project 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the issue, contact the Customer Activation Center at (716) 871-2919 and request a Microsoft Project 2000 Downgrade Volume Licensing Key.
