WebDAV Query with a Range Qualifier That Is More Than 10 Rows Returns an Incorrect Total (323362)

SYMPTOMS

When you perform a Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) query in Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001, you may find that an incorrect total is returned if the query uses a range qualifier that contains more than 10 rows, and if the MS-Search-TotalHits header is set to False. This problem occurs after you install the hotfix that is documented in the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

RESOLUTION

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next SharePoint Portal Server 2001 service pack that contains this hotfix.
