OFF2001: "Registration Could Not Be Completed" Error Message When You Try to Start Word (323298)

When you try to start Microsoft Word 2001, you may receive the following error message:
Registration could not be completed because one or more required files are damaged or missing.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the Office installation is damaged.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, follow the steps in method 1. If the problem is not resolved, follow the steps in method 2.
Method 1: Delete Two Preferences Files- Locate the following two files in Macintosh HD:System Folder:Preferences folder:
Embedding Preferences
PPC Registration Database - Drag these two files to the Trash.
- Start Word to see if the issue has been resolved.
If the problem still occurs, follow the steps in method 2.
