SSABI-PRB: Master Delete Cannot Completely Remove Cube Partitions (323253)

This article was previously published under Q323253 SYMPTOMS When you use the Master Delete (Master_delete.dts) package
to delete all records in all tables in the Subject Matter database and cube
partition in Analysis Services, the following error may be seen in the Master
Delete log file: Error = -2147220482 (800403FE)
Error Source = Microsoft JET Database Engine
Error Description: Could not
update; currently locked by user 'Admin' on machine <machine name>
CAUSE This problem is caused by the poor locking capability of
Jet driver when Analysis Services Repository file format is in Microsoft
Access. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, migrate the Analysis Services
Repository to SQL Server 2000 and then use the Analysis Services native format.
