SYMPTOMS

If you are running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server in your environment, Lsass.exe on a domain controller or Store.exe on the Exchange server may intermittently stop working.

CAUSE

Active Directory permits security descriptors that are not valid to be stored. This causes problems with programs that later read the security descriptor.
