WD2002: "Invalid Page Fault in Module Ppbiuf.dll" Error Message When You Start Word (323124)

When you try to start Word 2002, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Winword has caused an invalid page fault in module ppbiuif.dll.
When you try to restart Word, a blue screen may appear, which forces you to restart Microsoft Windows.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur if the default printer setting in Control Panel is set to a Visioneer PaperPort scanner.
RESOLUTION
To resolve the issue, change the printer setting from the default setting to an existing printer, or install an updated driver for your Visioneer PaperPort scanner. To do this, use both of the following methods.
Change Default Printer- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Printers and Faxes.
- Right-click the printer that you want to use as the default printer, and then click Set as Default Printer.
A check mark appears next to the printer icon in the Printers and Faxes folder.
