WD2000: Size of Inserted Excel Worksheet Object Changes Unexpectedly in Word Document (323120)

SYMPTOMS

After you insert a Microsoft Excel worksheet object into a Word document, the size of that worksheet may change when you click outside the worksheet.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • You insert the worksheet into a block of text.

    -and-
  • The In line with text wrapping option is turned on.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. In the Word document, click to select the Excel worksheet object.
  2. On the Format menu, click Object.
  3. Click the Layout tab.
  4. Under Wrapping style, click a style other than In line with text, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Word 2000.

This problem was corrected in Word 2002.
