PRB: Commerce Server 2002 Pup Logs Are Written in Unicode Format (323104)

SYMPTOMS

Pup logs may appear in a jumbled format if the pup log is created by an edition of Commerce Server that is earlier than Commerce Server 2002. This problem occurs in the Japanese version of Commerce Server 2002.

CAUSE

Editions of Commerce Server earlier than Commerce Server 2002 do not create pup logs in Unicode, but Commerce Server 2002 writes these files in Unicode.

WORKAROUND

Open the file in Notepad before you perform any packaging operations and save the file as Unicode, or delete the file and the file will be recreated on the next pup operation.
