BUG: First Three Screens of Pup Process Do Not Display DBCS Characters Correctly When You Unpup Japanese Packages on English Version of the Operating System (323090)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Commerce Server 2002
This article was previously published under Q323090 SYMPTOMS
When you unpup Japanese packages on an English version of the operating system, the first three screens of the Pup process display question marks (???) instead of characters. The fourth screen appears fine.
CAUSE
The first three screens of the Pup process are Microsoft Visual Basic forms. These Visual Basic controls are not Unicode. In controls that can potentially display double-byte character set (DBCS) characters, you must select the appropriate font and charset to enable input in DBCS or to display the localized path or other localized items appropriately.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, set the system locale to Japanese.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2002.
