BUG: Pocket PC 2002: Drafts Folder Scroll Bar Does Not Display or React (322974)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE for Pocket PC 2002

This article was previously published under Q322974

SYMPTOMS

When you view the Drafts folder on your Pocket PC, the scroll bar area is not drawn. Instead, a part of the background image from the previous program appears on the right side of the screen.

Or, a scroll bar appears but does not respond to the stylus.

CAUSE

This is a display issue in the Drafts folder.

RESOLUTION

Close and reopen the Drafts folder. This causes the scroll bar to correctly draw if the list is long enough to require a scroll bar.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If the number of draft messages is less than the maximum number of messages that fit on one screen, a scroll bar is unnecessary, but the scroll bar continues to be displayed incorrectly. However, in this case a scroll bar is not needed because all of the messages are visible on the screen at one time.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Tap Start, and then tap Inbox.
  2. Tap the drop-down menu to display drafts.
  3. Display the Drafts folder.
  4. If a scroll bar is visible, delete messages until no scroll bar appears and at least one empty message line exists.
  5. Tap New and create a new draft.
  6. Repeat step 5 until the scroll bar appears.
Note that while the soft input panel (SIP) is open, the scroll bar appears and functions correctly.
This issue has been resolved in Pocket PC 2003.
