OL2000: Network Usage Increases If You Forward RTF Messages with Attachments (322947)

SYMPTOMS

If you forward a message that contains an attachment, the attachment may be copied locally before the message is forwarded.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you are forwarding a Rich Text Format (RTF) message.

WORKAROUND

To avoid the extra network bandwidth usage when you forward RTF messages with attachments, use either HTML or plain text format for messages.

NOTE: If you use Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor, you may not experience this problem even if you are using RTF messages.
