The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server

This article was previously published under Q322931

SYMPTOMS

The Exchange 2000 H.323 Bridge may log the following event ID 12288 (not enough storage is available) error message in the Application event log:
Event ID 12288 Souce MSExchangeH323

The Microsoft Exchange H.323 Conferencing Bridge has lost the ability to communicate with the Microsoft Exchange Conference Management service and the Microsoft Exchange Data Conferencing service. There will be a delay joining conferences until this problem is corrected. Error code: 8007000e; Message: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

CAUSE

If you use Microsoft NetMeeting to join a data conference, NetMeeting tries both H.323 and T.120 connections. When the H.323 Bridge answers, it tries to obtain the Session Description Protocol (SDP) from the Data Conferencing Service (DCS) Manager.

Because the conference is not a H.323 conference, the SDP is not found. E_OUTOFMEMORY is returned, which logs the event ID 12288 error message and forces the Microsoft Exchange H.323 Bridge service to restart internally.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.
