SYMPTOMS

When you try to use a program that uses the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) service on a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based computer, the program may stop responding.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the program makes extensive use of LDAP. A program that makes extensive use of LDAP may cause the Xconfmgr process to stop responding, and the program itself stops responding.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
