Query-based Collection Is Not Updated When the Query Criteria Change (322408)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003
This article was previously published under Q322408 SYMPTOMSIf you create a collection that is based on an imported
query, and then you modify the original query, the collection is not updated as
expected.CAUSE This issue occurs because, when you create a query-based
collection, the queries are imported from existing queries. After the
queries are imported,
they
are treated as separate from the source queries.WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, re-add the
query (that the query-based collection is created from) to
the collection. To do so, follow these steps:
- Right-click the collection that is based on the changed
query, and then click Properties.
- Click the Membership Rules tab, and then
double-click the rule that is created from the changed query. This opens the
Query Rule Properties dialog box.
- Click Import Query Statement, and then
click the changed query to re-add it.
- Click OK three times to close all dialog
boxes.
STATUS This
behavior is by design.
