Playing Half-Life May Cause an Error Message (322366)

SYMPTOMS

While you are playing Half-Life by Sierra Entertainment on a Windows XP-based computer, you may receive the following error message:
hl.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If the error message is still displayed and if you want to see the data that the error report contains, click the click here link at the bottom of the message box. You then see error signature information that may be similar to:
   App name   App version   Module name   Module version   Offset
   ----------------------------------------------------------------
   hl.exe     1.1.0.8       hw.dll        0.0.0.0          00036fb4
				

CAUSE

There is a known issue with Half-Life version 1.1.0.8 and Windows XP.

RESOLUTION
