You are prompted to install the Microsoft Office Web Component 2002 when you create Portfolio Analyzer views in Microsoft Project 2002 (322282)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project Web Access, when you try to create Portfolio Analyzer views, you may receive the following error message:
In order to view this page, you need the Microsoft Office Web Component 2002 or higher.

Click here to install the Microsoft Office Web Component 2002.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the computer that you use to create the Portfolio Analyzer does not have a Microsoft Office XP program installed (such as Microsoft Word 2002, Microsoft Excel 2002, Microsoft FrontPage 2002, or Microsoft Outlook 2002). If the computer does not have an Office XP license, the Office Web Access controls are created as read-only.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, create and view the Portfolio Analyzer by using a computer that has an Office XP program installed.
