PRJ2002: The Project Guide Prompts You to Save the Project After You Just Saved the Project (322278)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project Standard 2002
This article was previously published under Q322278 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project, when you create a new project by using the Project Guide, you receive a message to save the project even though you just saved the project in a previous step, and no changes were made to the project between these steps.
For example, when you click Save under
Save your project in the
Define the Project side pane to save the project, and then click Save and go to Step 4 at the bottom of the pane to proceed to the next step, you receive the following message:
Your project needs to be saved now before this operation can continue.
Do you want to proceed?
You have to click OK and therefore save the project again before you can proceed to the next step.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you create a new project by using the Define the Project Wizard in the Project Guide.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
The Project Guide, displayed by default in Microsoft Project, includes instructions and wizards that help you navigate through the project-management process and which are displayed in a side pane in the Microsoft Project window. You can use the Project Guide to help you define your project, work with tasks and resources, track progress, and report project information to stakeholders (including team members and other project managers).
For more information about the Project Guide, click Microsoft Project Help on the
Help menu, type project guide in the Office Assistant or
the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics
returned.
