SYMPTOMS
When you open an Excel workbook that contains a large pivot
table, Excel may repair and recover the file. After the repair and recovery
operation is completed, you receive the following message:
Errors were detected in Filename.xls, but Microsoft Excel was able to open the file by making the
repairs listed below. Save the file to make the repairs
permanent.
Repairs were made to PivotTable report 'PivotTable1' on '[Filename.xls]Sheet1'.
Note Filename.xls is the name of your Excel file.
After you click
Close to close the message, the pivot table field drop-down
controls may not function.
RESOLUTION
Service Pack Information

Hotfix Information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the
difference between UTC and local time, use the
Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
