XCCC: OWA Does Not Remind You To Turn Off OOF Assistant (322186)

SYMPTOMS

If you turn on the Out of Office (OOF) Assistant functionality, a reminder to turn off OOF Assistant does not appear if you log on to Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.

MORE INFORMATION

If you turn on OOF Assistant by using either Outlook or OWA, you receive the following message the next time that you log on to an Outlook client computer:

Out of Office is currently on. Would you like to turn it off?

OWA does not display any reminders if you turn on OOF Assistant because you typically use OWA to access your messages if you are out of the office. You may not want to turn off OOF Assistant until you return to the office.
