XL2000: "Edit Comment" Command Does Not Function If the Shortcut Menu Is Shown Through Code (322138)

SYMPTOMS

In Excel 2000, you can right-click the cell to display the cell shortcut menu or you can programmatically display the cell shortcut menu. If you programmatically display the cell shortcut, the Edit Comment command does not function although it appears to be turned on (not dimmed).

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the Edit Comment command on the Insert menu to display the cell shortcut menu.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.
