Msxml3.msm Has Incompatible Schema in ModuleComponents Table (322110)

CAUSE

All three columns in the ModuleComponents table in a merge module should be primary keys. However, only the first two columns are keys in the Msxml3.msm module. As a result, the components of the merge module (the files and the registry keys) are not mapped to a feature during the merge process, which causes the installation to fail.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft XML 3.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.
