Adobe Acrobat Reader Installation May Cause an Error Message (321964)

SYMPTOMS

While you are installing Adobe Acrobat Reader, if older files are not replaced by the installer as required, your computer may become unstable, or you may receive an error message that is similar to:
Error loading AcroFill.api!! Adobe Acrobat Reader has encountered a problem and must be shut down. We apologize for the inconvenience.
If the error message is still displayed and you if want to see the data that the error report contains, click the click here link at the bottom of the message box. You then see error signature information that may be similar to:

CAUSE

Acrobat Reader version 5.0.1 has a known issue with Windows XP.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, reinstall the Adobe software. Replacing the older files by clicking Yes to all when you are prompted to replace the files.
