SYMPTOMS

When you click the Calendar folder in Microsoft Outlook 2002, one of the following symptoms may occur:
  • Outlook 2002 may quit unexpectedly.

    -or-
  • Outlook 2002 may quit unexpectedly, and you receive the following error message:
    Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    If you view the details of the error, you receive the following error signature:
       AppName      AppVer       ModName      ModVer       Offset
       ------------------------------------------------------------
       Outlook.exe  10.0.2627.1  Outllib.dll  10.0.3117.0  00016fde
    

CAUSE

This problem may occur when you have many appointments in your calendar that contain corrupted start or end times. This problem may also occur when you have many appointments in your calendar that contain corrupted start or end times and are located in a Personal Folders(.pst) File.

WORKAROUND

To resolve this problem, create a new personal folders (.pst) file, and then re-create your calendar appointments.
