Application Hook May Not Receive Keyup from the Windows Logo Key (321794)

SYMPTOMS

An application hook may not receive the KeyUp message from the Windows Logo key. This problem can affect programs such as Alternative User Input Text Input Processor. After you press the Windows Logo key, you cannot type c, v, t, or h in Microsoft Word.

CAUSE

The key state for the Windows Logo key is handled incorrectly.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.

When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

WORKAROUND
