SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Windows Media Player, the following problems may occur with the volume control:
  • When you move the volume slider by using the mouse or by using touch input, the volume does not change in proportion to the volume slider position.
  • When you release the volume slider by using the mouse or by using touch input, the volume slider jumps to a different position. After releasing the volume slider with the mouse or touch input, the slider jumps to a different position.
  • When you use the keyboard to change the volume, the volume is multiplied by 2 or is divided by 2 instead of gradually changing.

Prerequisites

This hotfix is supported only when all previously issued hotfixes for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu.
