Minimum System Requirements for Microsoft Project Standard

The minimum system requirements include the following.

NOTE: A Microsoft Windows XP Professional-based computer with a Pentium III processor and 192 megabytes (MB) of RAM is the recommended system.
  • Personal computer with a Pentium 133-megahertz (MHz)-or-higher processor.
  • One of the following operating systems:
    • Microsoft Windows 98.
    • Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition.
    • Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me).
    • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 (SP6) or later.
    • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
    • Microsoft Windows XP Professional or later.

  • The memory requirements are as follows:
    • For Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition: 24 MB of RAM for the operating system plus 32 MB of RAM for Microsoft Project Standard.
    • For Windows Me, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, or Windows NT Server 4.0: 32 MB of RAM for the operating system plus 32 MB of RAM for Microsoft Project Standard.
    • For Windows 2000 Professional: 64 MB of RAM for the operating system plus 32 MB of RAM for Microsoft Project Standard.
    • For Windows XP Professional: 128 MB of RAM for the operating system plus 32 MB of RAM for Microsoft Project Standard.
  • The available hard disk space requirements are as follows:
    • 105 MB for a typical installation. 70 MB of the 105 MB must be on the hard disk where the operating system is installed.
    • 55 MB for a typical installation on a computer on which Microsoft Office XP is installed.
    • 310 MB for a full installation on a computer on which Office XP is not installed.
    • An additional 50 MB for System Files Update if you do not have Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Office XP, Office 2000 SR-1, or Microsoft Project 2000 installed.
