SYMPTOMS

In newsgroup folders, some messages that you copy from a personal folder (.pst) file may be visible to Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) clients, but not to newsgroup clients.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the messages that you submitted to Internet newsgroups have a sent time of null, which the Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP) rebuild process cannot handle.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 3.
