Description of Message Queuing 3.0 Remote Read port usage over HTTP (321306)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Message Queuing 3.0

This article was previously published under Q321306

INTRODUCTION

HTTP support for Microsoft Message Queuing 3.0 is only implemented for sending messages. If you use Direct FormatName and the address specification for HTTP to receive a message from the remote queue, RPC port 135 and RPC port 2105 are used instead of RCP port 80 for HTTP.

By design, Remote Read always uses the RPC port for communication.
