This article was previously published under Q321288 SYMPTOMS
When you use the Web Scheduler interface to schedule a meeting, you may receive the following error message:
#80070721: Unable to Schedule the specified conference
CAUSE
This problem can occur because a user account exists in your domain that has the same logon name as a server running a conferencing service in the conferencing topology. A computer and user account that has the same name does not permit users to authenticate to processes running under the context of the Local System account.
Typically, this problem occurs when you have Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server installed on one computer and the T.120 Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) component and Exchange 2000 Server installed on a separate computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, determine if there are any user accounts that have the same logon name as the names of any servers that are running conferencing services, for example, the Microsoft Exchange Conference Locator Service (Xconfloc.exe), Microsoft Exchange Conferencing Service (Xconfmgr.exe), and Microsoft Exchange T.120 MCU Service (Xt120mcu.exe). Delete the user account, and then create a new user account that has a different logon name.
NOTE: If you are running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server on two separate computers, the Microsoft Exchange Conference Locator Service must run on your Exchange 2000 Server computer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server.
