SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Word 2000 and you try to apply a double border to a table in a document that was created in Microsoft Word 6.0 or Microsoft Word 95, you may receive the following error message:
This feature is disabled because it is not compatible with Microsoft Word 6.0/95.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because when you open a Word 6.0 or a Word 95 document in Word 2000, several features in Word 2000 are marked as not compatible so that you can save the document in the original format of the document. The double-border format was incorrectly marked as not compatible with Word 6.0 and Word 95 file formats.
