Program Quits Unexpectedly When You Send a Document to a Mail Recipient (321133)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to send a document to a mail recipient by using any of the following programs, the program may unexpectedly quit, and a Dr. Watson message may appear:
  • Windows Explorer
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • Microsoft Word
  • WordPad
NOTE: To send a document to a mail recipient, on the File menu, point to Send To, and then click Mail Recipient.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you use Lotus Notes Client 5.06 as the default e-mail client.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, use Microsoft Outlook as the default e-mail client. To change your default mail client, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Programs tab, click the program that you want to use as the default e-mail client in the E-mail list, and then click OK.
