Combat Flight Simulator 2.0: No Sound Is Played When You Fly (321124)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Combat Flight Simulator, the program plays the introduction sounds, but when you start a flight, the program plays no sounds.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if the in-flight sound files are damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps to remove and then reinstall the game.
  1. NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

  2. Insert Combat Flight Simulator 2 Disc 1 into the CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive. Hold down the SHIFT key to prevent the program from starting automatically.
  3. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  4. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  5. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 2, and then click Add/Remove.
  6. Click Uninstall or Change/Remove.
  7. Click to select the Remove saved games check box.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Close Control Panel.
  10. Click Start, point to Find or Search, and then click Files or Folders or For Files or Folders.
  11. In the Named box, type combat flight simulator 2.
  12. In the Look in box, click My Computer.
  13. Click to select the Include subfolders check box if the check box is available.
  14. Click Find Now or Search Now.
  15. Right-click the Combat Flight Simulator 2 folder, click Delete, and then click Yes.
  16. Close the Find window.
  17. Reinstall the game.
