SYMPTOMS

After you create a content source to a SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft site as described in the SharePoint Portal Server Service Pack 1 (SP1) Readme file, display mappings from http:// to https:// for the content source may not work.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English version of this fix has the following file attributes or later:

NOTE: Because of file dependencies, this update requires Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 1

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001.
This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 2.

After you apply this fix, you have to modify the registry.

To modify the registry:
  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
  2. Locate and click the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Search\1.0\CatalogNames\SharePointPortalServer\tahoe

  3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:

    Value name: STS-EmitHttps
    Data type: REG_DWORD
    Radix: Hexadecimal
    Value data: 1

  4. Quit Registry Editor.
Search for the document in the SharePoint Team Services site. The document is returned in the search results as https://SharePoint_Team_Services_site.
