BUG: You Cannot Expand the Base Catalog Categories When You Are Editing a Virtual Catalog Category (320974)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a new Virtual Catalog (VC) category and you try to expand the Suppliers category under Assigned Categories, you receive the following error message:
ASP page reported an error dialog - Category not found

CAUSE

This problem only occurs when you are editing an existing category in a VC; it does not occur when you are adding a new category.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
