OL2002: Outlook Does Not Query As Expected If You Use Multiple LDAP Address Books on the Same Server (320910)

SYMPTOMS

If you use multiple Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) address books in a Microsoft Outlook profile, Outlook 2002 does not query as expected unless the LDAP directories are on different servers.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the Internet Protocol (IP) address of a server for the server name on a second LDAP address book filter.

This workaround is only effective for two filters pointing at the same server.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Outlook 2002. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2).
