Windows XP Generates a "Stop 0xA0" Error Message During Hibernation (320899)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to hibernate a Windows XP-based computer, you may receive a "Stop 0xA0" error message on a blue screen.

CAUSE

If an integrated device electronics (IDE) time-out occurs during the hibernation process, the Atapi driver does not wait long enough for the primary IDE drive to come online.

RESOLUTION
