FIX: Analysis Services Client Application Memory Usage Grows Each Time You Run a Query (320719)

SYMPTOMS

When you run a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query that uses the Descendants function to retrieve members of a parent-child dimension with the Non-Leaf data visible property set to true, the working set for the client application that is issuing the query continues to grow each time the query runs. This problem occurs even if you run the same query multiple times.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

NOTE: The following hotfix was created before the release of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3.
