STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

When you use the Office10.adm file and turn on the following policy

Word: Trust all installed add-ins and templates

the DontTrustInstalledFiles registry entry is assigned a value of 0. This entry is located under the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\Security

This setting enables macros that are in installed documents and templates. The problem occurs when Word 2002 does not recognize this setting.
