SUMMARY

If you install Site Server 3.0 or Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition on the same computer as Commerce Server, this configuration may cause unexpected or undesirable results. This configuration has not been tested and Microsoft does not recommend using this configuration.

MORE INFORMATION

There are several dependency differences between the products and some of the Commerce Server dependencies have not been verified with Site Server.

Additionally, Site Server 3.0 and Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition have very specific installation requirements, many of which do not match the installation requirements for Commerce Server.

Installing Commerce Server or its dependencies on a Site Server 3.0 computer may cause unexpected results or failure in the Site Server components.

Installing Site Server 3.0 Commerce edition or its dependencies on a Commerce Server computer results in the failure in some of the Commerce Server components.

NOTE: It is possible to install only Site Server 3.0 Content Deployment Services (CRS) together with Commerce Server. However, do not perform the full installation of Site Server as it is detailed in the order of installation procedures that is described in the following Web site: Only install the Content Deployment services (CRS). When you install other services that include the dependency updates (that are documented in the this link) these services are not supported with Commerce Server. However, CRS will operate with Commerce Server. It operates as a separate process (crssrc.exe) and does not directly affect the operation of the Commerce Server Web site process.
